Gen Z is the least likely to want fully remote, but they still want flexibility. In short, teams plan for mixed locations from the start.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Meetings are getting smarter (thankfully!).<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> During the big shift to remote work, it was easy to overbook. Now the trend is toward fewer, clearer, and more inclusive meetings. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/worklab\/work-trend-index\/breaking-down-infinite-workday\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Microsoft\u2019s 2025 data <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shows <\/span><b>about 30% of meetings include people in different time zones, and meetings after 8 p.m. are up 16% year over year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. To protect focus time, many companies are tightening agendas, shortening default lengths, and moving status updates to async notes. The \u201cinfinite workday\u201d is real, so guardrails matter.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>AI is moving from helper to teammate.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> By mid-2024, Microsoft found that<\/span><b> 75% of global knowledge workers were using AI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, often before their companies set a formal plan. In 2025, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/worklab\/work-trend-index\/2025-the-year-the-frontier-firm-is-born\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Microsoft<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> highlights \u201cFrontier Firms,\u201d early adopters that organize work around people plus AI. Their employees are <\/span><b>far more likely to say their company is thriving (71% vs. ~37% globally)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>able to take on more work (55% vs. ~20%).<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In daily collaboration, this looks like AI summarizing long threads, drafting follow-ups, and turning meeting notes into next steps.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Employees want better, simpler tools \u2014 and real training.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Even with heavy adoption, gaps remain. A global <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/click.zoom.com\/navigating-the-future-of-work\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zoom survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found <\/span><b>75% of employees say their remote or <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/archiedev.co\/blog\/best-hybrid-software\/\"><b>hybrid work software<\/b><\/a><b> needs improvement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>72% want new tech investment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The message is clear. Very few would choose to be in the office every day if they had a say. Flexibility is what people want, and employers know it.<\/span><\/p><p><b>By early 2025, about four in ten new U.S. job postings offered some remote option. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hybrid roles grew from single digits in 2023 to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roberthalf.com\/us\/en\/insights\/research\/remote-work-statistics-and-trends\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">roughly a quarter of postings by 2025<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In 2024, knowledge workers spent about 60% of their time in email, chat, and meetings. More apps mean more context switching, more places where information can hide, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archiedev.co\/blog\/hybrid-workplace-security\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">more security to manage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
